In 1851, at the zenith of Queen Victoria's reign, London hosted the Great Exhibition, showcasing the glory and progress of the Industrial Revolution. To house the Exhibition, a titanic glass hall was built. The Crystal Palace remained a monument to Victorian grandeur for 85 years.
